Small business website; Give Customers Value and Fuel Growth

If you don’t have a website for your small business yet you might be hurting a lot of potential customers. Nowadays people use Google more often to find products or service providers around them. You can imagine the frustrations after searching for a particular keyword only to find Gumtree listings on the first page or land to a static web page with outdated information.

Like many small business owners, you might be tempted to think a Facebook page is enough for you. But have you ever thought about people that do not have a Facebook account or any social media presence for that matter?

There are so many things a website can do that you and your employees can’t. For example, no one expects any business to be still open after hours but people still conduct searches even if it’s 12 midnight. This proves how useful and informative consumers expert business websites to be so they can get answers even there’s no one around to answer the telephone.

The importance of having a website for your small business growth

Your small business can grow even faster if people were able to find it when they need your services the most. I’ve come across many articles claiming that having a website helps you reach to more customers.

Personally, I feel this is one of the reasons small business owners give up paying for their websites a few months just after launching them. Think of it this way, an online presence helps potential customers reach to your business, not the other way around.

You don’t personally go around asking if people need your services but people seek for companies like yours, so it’s crucial to prepare your website for them. Unless you are one of those that use Facebook groups to market their services. I’m not saying its wrong to use Facebook groups to market your services but what if I didn’t see your post?

Small Business Website

People expect your company to have it

Even if you feel you don’t need it yet at least people that are willing to buy from you expert you to have it. If you do what you do to serve your customers’ needs then why not get a website to serve their needs even better?

A small business website helps build trust and credibility

Most people tend to search the internet for a product or service before the purchase to check the credibility first. If you have a website you have the opportunity to showcase products and reviews from previous customers.

Make yourself available wherever and whenever people are looking for your services

Once you have a business website up and running you need to optimize it and maintain it for SEO. This helps people find it when they conduct searches that include keywords related to your websites’ content. SEO is one of the most overlooked aspects of online marketing by most small business owners since it’s a long-term investment.

Capture potential customers contact information

It’s crucial to have important information along with a visible call to actions and forms on the landing page of your website. Forms need to have a clear heading indicating that they need to leave their details so you can get back to them. Your forms also need to have fewer fields as possible like name, phone and email address only. Once a user completes a form you need to direct them to a thank you page that will let them know when they can expect you to contact them.

Conclusion

A website whether it’s for a small business or a successful company needs to be more than a marketing tool. It needs to provide useful and informative content to consumers. You need to optimize your website so that search engine bots can make sense of its content and serve it when people need it the most.
